Algerian President visits Qatar National Library

Doha: The President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria HE Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his accompanying delegation visited the Qatar National Library (QNL) on Monday as part of his current visit to the country.

Upon arrival at the library, His Excellency was received by HE the Minister of State and Chairman of the National Library of Qatar, Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari.

During the visit, HE was informed about the architectural structure of the National Library of Qatar and the most important books it contains in various sciences, arts and literature.

In his speech on the library’s honorary record, HE the Algerian President praised the treasures and holdings of the National Library of Qatar in manuscripts, periodicals, valuables, rare maps, ancient books and others. His Excellency expressed his pleasure to visit this civilizational and cultural monument, during his visit to the State of Qatar, as one of the testimonies of the rebirth of this authentic Arab country.

The library is a landmark that indicates the importance Qatar’s leadership attaches to science and knowledge and to nurturing a person who can keep pace using knowledge and technology, HE added.

HE the President congratulated the brothers of Qatar for the richness and diversity of the National Library of Qatar, adding that this is another achievement of which the State of Qatar is proud.
