Core / ACRL Webinar: Bringing Intentionality and Inclusiveness to the University Library Interview
CHICAGO — Are you considering hiring? Join the Core Academic Interviews project team on Thursday, November 18 at noon CT for a free webinar to discuss our guide to interview best practices. Whether you’re hosting interviews online or in person, we’ve created a set of interview process recommendations that aim to be transparent and candidate-friendly, while mitigating the biases often inherent in long-standing practices. By the end of the webinar, participants will understand which aspects of traditional interviewing practices invite bias; be able to identify areas for potential improvement in their own maintenance practices; and become familiar with new ways of structuring interviews that welcome applicants through an inclusive process.
The Core Academic Interviews Project Team’s draft best practice document and this webinar will address our recommendations for candidate-friendly interview processes that include meeting accessibility needs throughout. the maintenance day. The draft best practices document is still open for anyone to view and comment, and gives a good idea of what will be covered during this free webinar.
