Mount Vernon Public Library Comic Book Exhibit Returns August 7
After a two-year hiatus, returns for the fourth year
Do you like comics? Did you grow up reading comics or did you go to the movies and were thrilled to see your favorite comic book characters come to life? Are you an enthusiastic gamer or anime follower? Perhaps you are immersing yourself in new worlds of science fiction and fantasy. If any of these descriptions apply to you, or if you’re just curious, here’s your chance to experience the realms of comics and pop culture within a community of people who share your passions!
After a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mount Vernon Public Library is hosting its fourth annual Comic Book Expo on Sunday, August 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on First Avenue South between First and the second street. in Mount Vernon, New York.
Comic Expo is a free pop culture event featuring vendors, performers, performers, kids activities, game tournaments, anime viewings and more! Cosplayers will be present throughout the day to show off their costume adornments and interact with attendees.
Anticipation is building, and MVPL predicts that this year will be bigger and better than before! The Mount Vernon Public Library Comic Book Exhibit will attract fans of comics, games, anime, and science fiction. From our K-pop dance challenge, Kids Comic Clubhouse, top-notch entertainment and more, Comic Expo is free to the public and filled with fun activities.
There will be a cosplay costume contest with a grand prize of $500 for entrants ages 13 and up. Cosplay, dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, particularly one of the Japanese genres of manga and anime, is a popular attraction at comic book conventions around the world. whole, and our cosplay contest will definitely be a hit. There will also be a junior cosplay contest for children under 12. Professional cosplayers Rizuki, Spike Schumacher, and Tranquil Ashes will be on hand as judges for this year’s cosplay contest.
A variety of food and refreshments will be available for purchase from food truck vendors.
