The board of the National Library of Israel has chosen Sallai Meridor as its new president.

Meridor previously served as chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel and the World Zionist Organization.

In 2006, he was appointed Israeli Ambassador to the United States, and in 2011, he became a founding partner of Glilot Capital Partners.

The board hailed Meridor’s familiarity and involvement with the diverse communities of Israel and the Jewish people around the world as factors that will benefit the library in fulfilling its mission.
