New Program Coordinator at the North Valley Public Library
In-person programming for children and adults returns to the North Valley Public Library in October. The Library welcomes Barbara Hayford as the new Library Programmer.
Barbara looks forward to meeting the community. Keep an eye on the library’s calendar for these upcoming events she’s planned:
Mother Goose on the Loose is back at the library. Join us for stories and activities for ages 0-3 every Monday at 10:30 am. Mother Goose on the Loose is an award winning early literacy program that contains nursery rhymes and music for infants, babies and toddlers.
Story Time and More: October is Dinosaur Month! For 3-5 year olds, every Wednesday at 10:30 am we will have dinosaur stories and activities.
Full STEAM Ahead is fun science, technology, engineering, art, and math programming offered every Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for ages 5 to 11. October activities are: dinosaur discovery (October 7); fossil exploration (October 14); dinosaur movement (October 21); and the dinosaurs (October 28).
Arts & Crafts for ages 5-11 is offered the first and last Wednesday of each month. Each activity will relate to a book or other library resource. In keeping with the October theme, we will be focusing the activities on dinosaurs. They are: Dinosaur Crafts and Haiku (October 6) and Dinosaur Puppets (October 27).
Adult events and activities will take place every Tuesday of the month. The first Tuesday of the month offers presentations. The second Tuesday features literary events, such as book-related programs, discussions, or author events. The third Tuesday is dedicated to making, creating or repairing something in the makerspace. On the fourth Tuesday, you won’t know what to expect! It could be gardening, news, crafts, or a speaker from Humanities Montana. We’re going to be changing it every month, so be sure to keep looking at our calendar.
In October, the events for adults are: The fly fishing flies on October 5th; Science Fiction October 12; Fall cards October 19; and Spooky Cat Castles on October 26.
