Professor Anunobi takes office as CEO of the National Library

Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi has taken up her post as National Librarian and Managing Director of the National Library of Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari last week approved the appointment of Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi alongside other heads of some educational agencies.

Professor Anunobi, who resumed Tuesday, sought the support and cooperation of staff to achieve greater mileage for the organization and place it on par with its counterparts around the world.

She said: “I believe in collaboration and teamwork. To this extent, everyone here is a stakeholder and together, we are all a stakeholder in the success or failure of this organization.

“I, as a stakeholder, have chosen the path of success and that is why I am asking for your collaboration so that together we can succeed. “

Earlier in her remarks, Dr (Ms.) Oluchi Kalu, who had served as National Librarian since August 2, 2021, welcomed Professor Anunobi and pledged the unwavering support of management and staff to the new National Librarian.

She informed her of the intervention of President Buhari and the Federal Ministry of Education for the completion of the permanent headquarters building, through a funding window from the Higher Education Fund.

Professor Anunobi had been a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology in Owerri on several occasions; Imo State University and Federal Polytechnic, Nekede.

Until her appointment, she completed her tenure as University Librarian at Federal University of Technology in Owerri in April 2021 and returned to Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka.
