Ugly Sweater Party to Benefit North Pocono Public Library
This ugly sweater that collects dust in your wardrobe can make you $ 100 richer! Join the Lackawanna Leadership 2021 Core Class for their âMix, Mingle and Jingle Ugly Sweater Party,â a one-night-only happy hour to benefit the team’s community service project.
Anyone with the holiday spirit is invited to don their ugliest clothes on Friday, December 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Backyard Ale House in Scranton – all for a great cause! For just $ 25, entrants get access to an exclusive two-hour open bar and entry to the Ugly Sweater Contest, which rewards $ 100 for the ugliest sweater and $ 50 for the runner-up.
The cash-only fundraising event will also include door prizes and raffles. All funds raised will go to the team’s project to build a kiosk at the North Pocono Public Library in Moscow. The new accessible structure will serve as an outdoor learning space for library users and community groups.
The library, which serves nine municipalities in northeastern Pennsylvania, serves as a cornerstone of community resources designed to meet the educational and cultural needs of residents as well as to support lifelong learning. Due to constraints related to the COVID-19 pandemic, this Core Class team was unable to complete its project during the 2020-2021 program.
Leadership Lackawanna Executive Director Nicole Moristell praised the team’s continued commitment, stating, âMonths after their formal commitment to Leadership Lackawanna ended, this incredible group of volunteer team members are still working. hard to complete their class service project.
âThe main goal of the Leadership organization is to develop community leaders. The commitment of this team truly epitomizes the success of our leadership program. I hope the community will support our efforts to complete this project – we do. we only need $ 2,000 and I’m ‘I have no doubts this fundraiser can do it!’
The project team includes Jennifer Azarowicz from The AZEK Company, Chris DePrimo from Penn Foster, Vicki Hazzouri from GridIronIT, Kris Liebegott from Lackawanna College, Sara Rinkunas from Penn State Scranton and Danielle Weinschenk from Tobyhanna Army Depot.
